The year of the horse for me is a need for a creative community.  Mat Gleason's art openings in Chinatown are pledges for artists to share their creative consciousness.  The current exhibition: TWO JOHNS AND A WHORE is an example of Gleason's charismatic art direction, of performance art inside the gallery (John Fleck), oozing into the Chung King Road promenade. The open bar of champagne and beer and neo-punk music unified the gallery time travelers. Clearly there was a large presence of baby-boomers still going strong with the millenniums.

Here's hoping the neighboring galleries are flying under the same Coagula antenna for success in the Chinatown gallery scene and the power of a community of creative minds.
